General information

The Sixth Annual Meeting of SeRC will take place at Aula Magna, Stockholm University, June 15-16 (lunch-to-lunch). The theme of the meeting is  ‘e-Science in Climate modeling’,  but the program will cover other topics as well. There will be presentations by SeRC researchers as well as external speakers.

Highlights from the program

Three invited talks on the topic “Climate Modelling and e-Science” by:
Raymond T. Pierrehumbert, currently King Carl XVI Gustaf Professor in Environmental Science, Stockholm University, on leave of University of Chicago in transit to Oxford University
Sylvie Joussaume, IPSL – Laboratoire des Sciences du Climat et de l’Environnement, France, Chair of PRACE Scientific Steering Committee
Ralf Döscher, SeRC and the Rossby Centre, SMHI

Other invited speakers are:
Wilco Hazeleger, Director of the eScience center in Netherlands and SeRC advisory board member
Janet Pierrehumbert, Professor of Linguistics,  Northwestern University, currently guest at Stockholm University in transit to Oxford University
Rob Pennington, Deputy Director, National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign

Dinner

The conference dinner will be at Världshuset Kräftan.

Travel

Buses will leave from KTH (to Skåvsjöholm), Lindsteds väg 3, at 10:45 June 2, and from Skåvsjöholm (to KTH) 13:15, June 3. Please indicate at the registration if you want to go by bus or arrange the travel by yourself.

Registration

The registration is closed.

Please register by latest May 25. The conference is free of charge but the number of seats for the meals are limited, and will be availible on a first-register first-served basis.

SeRC members, please note

1) You will have to arrange hotel rooms for the overnight stay yourselves.
2) All meals are covered by SeRC (dinner seats are limited, see above). However, travel and hotel expenses should be covered from SeRC project funding or other sources available to the participants.
