Training course: “Code Optimisation and Performance Tuning” in Stockholm

Knowledge about performance optimisation techniques becomes increasingly important also for application developers. This training provides background and applicable knowledge for the development of efficient numerical simulation programs that achieve high performance on recent computer systems. Performance tuning of serial and parallel programs will be discussed. This includes the efficient usage of memory hierarchies and computational units: caches, loop optimisations, vectorization and other implementation techniques. Optimisation of parallel programs using OpenMP and MPI will be another focus.
