As part of the multidisciplinary Bert Bolin Centre for Climate Research, the Department of Applied Environmental Science (ITM) contributes to the development and application of Earth System Models. These models are important tools for quantifying the past, recent and future states of the Earth System and the respective flows of matter and energy between and within the Earth system components. At ITM we contribute to Earth system science with respect to land surface and atmospheric aerosol processes. The scientific programmer will support the development, testing, and running of Earth System Models such as EC-EARTH, mainly from a technical point of view.
