The strategic research initiative SeRC has now been formally running for a couple of weeks, and we are in full action with activity planning and recruitment, see next page for a short description.One of the key goals for SeRC is to form new ties and collaborations between basic and applied computational research to make it a springboard for world leading e-Science research. Much of this work will be initiated in what we call e-Science communities, but we also believe it is important for all principal investigators to get a chance to meet in a relaxed environment and focus entirely on science.
