Industry collaboration - Portendo AB
This collaboration, funded by Portendo AB, involved theory and software development of a new algorithm for Resonant Raman detection and its efficient computer implementation. Software was produced for in-field stand-off detection of foreign substances. The research led to a patented algorithm for resonance Raman simulations, with unprecedented qualities, which could identify both the spectral fingerprints of the foreign substances and the necessary conditions in terms of concentration and distribution for their detection. The security part of this research is now taken over by FOI where the supported student now is employed. The project has also continued along a new direction where resonant Raman is used for detection of low-concentration substances in human breath.
